First off, I’d like to thank my friends and family for giving me the confidence in myself to try this out. Here is my story- I have been working in marketing for the last 6 years for Bay Area high tech companies. This month I plan to start my own business. The last company I worked for was a fast-paced company where you had to learn on your feet, while they were moving at 250 MPH. I learned a lot there, both about how to perform well at my job as well as how a business runs in the real world versus what we learned in school. I learned about CRM tools, marketing techniques, graphic design, trade show management, and most importantly how to build a website with analytics and security that could be easily used by anyone. So, I decided to take all that information and try to build my own marketing and web design firm that’s geared towards startups and companies that would like to make the move to online.
Now, you’re probably saying something like “that’s great, but why should I care?” Well, my goal with this blog and the accompanying videos is to focus on the business aspect. I know that there are a lot of people like me, who are good at something and are considering starting their own business, but are afraid or too comfortable to leave their current position. I want to be transparent and take you along on the ride with me. These blog posts will be divided into 5 categories- General Business, Goals, Sales, Marketing Efforts, and Accounting. I will also be asking questions to my audience and following up with advice.
